Blogger.com all f-ed up
Sometime around the 3rd, Blogger.com started eating anything I tried to post, including comments responding to comments in older posts, and including a really good post about what books I've been reading, which was fucking genius on the order of sliced bread). So this post is a test to see if Blooger.com is working again.

It ate a couple of my comments on moto-mania. If you see this, tell me if you got to see and sit on an actual SV yesterday!
I got to sit on an SV650S. Seriously, everyone around here keeps confusing the "S" with "standard" as opposed to "sport." Very annoying. Still, it was a really nice bike. It was an '06, red, and very sexy. The dealer said he'd come down to $5900, which isn't bad, though it makes me think I can get a standard for $5400 -- if only I can find one.
Pluses for the S are that it already has a windshield, and (I'm told) it handles even better than the standard. Negatives are price, and the more forward riding position. The bike actually felt plenty comfortable in the showroom, but I'm a tall guy (6'2") and I'm not sure how my knees would like being bent and up like that for too long.
Also (and I'll probably ask this on the list), is it at all realistic that you can bring a passenger on the back of the standard? The placement of the passenger's foot pegs on the S make the idea of fitting a second person on there seem like a joke.
BTW: Thanks for introducing me to the list and posting that email for me. I appreciate it, and, as you've probably seen, I signed up. It's a great resource.
You're welcome, of course. You'll find that the people on that list will collectively be able to answer almost any question you have. Should you end up owning an SV, it's even better -- maintenance, new tire choices, accessory advice, etc. A great example of the wisdom of crowds.
I'll answer the questions about the S model vs. naked SV on-list, and my guess is about 300 other people will have an opinion as well.
I'm getting a little jealous of you two.
